Dancegang - The Geraldine Fox Theatre Arts Academy

As announced at the show yesterday, we are changing our name! We will now be known as the Geraldine Fox Theatre Arts Academy.

Over the last few years, the school has expanded beyond just teaching dancing. It was felt that this new name will encompass much more of what we do, particularly bringing Singing and Acting into the heart of the school.

Well done to everyone for their performances in the show over the last two days. The standard of the show was excellent and the level of hard work, commitment, and Talent were apparent throughout.

The photo's from the show will be published in the members area within the next week, and we also hope to have a 60 second preview of the DVD.

The calendar does have some details, but as a reminder to parents and students...

Sat 23rd: Classes cancelled. Dress rehearsal at Angel Centre from 12:15 prompt

Sun 24th: Classes usually held on saturday will be taken at the YWCA at their normal times, just a day late.

Sat 30th: Classes cancelled. Show performance from 1:30 - be at the angel centre by 12:30.

Sun 31st: Show performance from 1:30 - be at the angel centre by 12:30

Whilst we are trying to hold as many classes as possible during the snow, we are concious of safety and also of the logistical problems getting around. If any classes are to be cancelled, we will publish these details through this website on this front page. Please check here before setting out for your class.

We are starting this new beginners Modern Jazz class next Saturday morning (14^th November); it will begin at 11.45 and will finish at 12.15 and will be held at the YWCA in Lyons Crescent, Tonbridge.

This class is open to pupils aged 8 and over (School years 5 and above).

Around 50 people were present for the prizegiving at the Goldsmid Hall in Tudeley last Sunday. Several of our classes performed demonstrations of some of their exam dances to an audience of parents, families, friends and visitors from the tonbridge area.

Over 350 awards were gained in this summers exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Musical Theatre and Freestyle and of particular note, two of our students qualified in their associate teacher examinations.
